Dr. Thorpe (she/her) is a clinical psychologist specializing in evidence-based therapies for children, adolescents, and families. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Stony Brook University with the support of a National Science Foundation GRFP (Graduate Research Fellowship Program). She completed her predoctoral internship at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), where she gained experience in developmental pediatrics, youth outpatient care, and community-based trauma interventions. Dr. Thorpe has also worked at prestigious institutions such as Columbia University Irving Medical Center and New York-Presbyterian Hospital. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at Franklin and Marshall College with a major in Psychology and Public Health. In addition to her clinical background and training, Dr. Thorpe regularly presents at national conferences and publishes research in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Thorpe specializes in providing evidence-based therapies for infants, young and middle-aged children, adolescents, and their families, with extensive training in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT, Parent Management Training (PMT), etc. Dr. Thorpe is also trained in therapies for infants and very young children to support child-parent attachment, including Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up (ABC). She is skilled in tailoring treatment approaches to meet the unique needs of diverse youth, including those with developmental disabilities. Recognized for her exceptional work, Dr. Thorpe was awarded the 2024 Clinical Excellence Award from MUSC for her community outreach in schools, where she provided TF-CBT to diverse populations. Her approach is both creative and evidence-based, helping children and families navigate challenges with confidence.

Dr. Thorpe loves to explore her creative side through drawing and painting. She enjoys traveling and learning about the history and culture of different countries. She collects snow globes from each of the places she has visited; her favorite place so far is Brussels! Dr. Thorpe also has a deep love for houseplants, particularly her peace lily, which, despite being very temperamental, holds a special place in her collection.
