Dr. Krishtine Rosenthal is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in utilizing evidence-based interventions, such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP), to address a variety of emotional difficulties in teens and adults. She utilizes a collaborative, culturally responsive approach in order to empower clients and their families in the therapeutic process and support them in moving towards their values and goals.
Dr. Rosenthal upholds integrating aspects of her clients’ identities into therapy and resilience building. Her clinical interests include the treatment of generalized anxiety (GAD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety, phobias, depression, interpersonal challenges, parenting skills, and emotional dysregulation in individuals from diverse backgrounds.
A particular area of clinical passion for Dr. Rosenthal is providing trauma treatment and trauma informed-care. Specifically, she is certified in trauma-focused CBT (TFCBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for the treatment of trauma and stress-related disorders in adolescents and adults, respectively.
Background & Credentials
Dr. Rosenthal obtained a Bachelors of Arts in Neuroscience and Behavior from Vassar College. She also earned her Masters in Early Childhood Special Education from The City University of New York (CUNY) Hunter College and, in a past life, worked as a preschool teacher for a number of years, with emphasis on behavior management and socioemotional development in the classroom setting. She later earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Virginia, Curry School of Education, as well as a Masters in Educational Psychology. She has received specialized training, while on internship, in the treatment of trauma and stress-related disorders at the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, at the Child and Family Therapy Clinic.

Personal Life
When not in the office, Dr. Rosenthal appreciates spending time outdoors and exploring the DMV area with friends and family. She also enjoys trying new recipes, board games, and reading.
